New York Sour

The New York Sour is a vibrant twist on the classic Whisky Sour, adding a bold splash of red wine for extra depth and visual appeal. A direct descendant of the Whisky Sour, this cocktail combines bourbon, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, and egg white, creating a smooth and balanced drink. The finishing touch—a float of red wine—adds a rich contrast, making it just as stunning to look at as it is to sip.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Woodford Reserve Bourbon

  • 25ml Lemon Juice

  • 15ml Simple Syrup

  • 1 Egg White

  • 25ml Red Wine

Garnish

  • Orange peel

  • Sugar Rim

Method

1) Sugar rim a rocks glass

2) Next dry shake the egg white in a cocktail shaker

3) Add the Bourbon, Lemon, and Simple Syrup to the shaker with ice and shake well

4) Strain into the glass with ice

5) Float the Red Wine in the cocktail

6) Garnish with Orange peel
