Tequila sunrise
The Tequila Sunrise is a refreshing, fruity cocktail named for its vibrant orange, pink, and red layers created by grenadine and orange juice. It’s easy to make and perfect for brunch or sunset drinks.
Originally created in the 1930s by bartender Gene Sulit with tequila, crème de cassis, soda water, and lime juice, the modern version took shape in the 1970s at The Trident bar in California. The Rolling Stones helped popularize it, with Mick Jagger making it his drink of choice during their 1972 tour.
There is no doubt the Tequila Sunrise isn’t as popular today, but the Tequila Sunrise remains a fun and timeless classic.
