Classic Mojito

This simple mojito recipe features a homemade simple syrup that enhances the flavours, creating a standout cocktail. Instead of muddling the fresh mint leaves, simply slap them between your palms to release their aroma and flavour and you will have created an ultra-refreshing cocktail.

Be sure to use a superior white rum it can make all the difference; Bacardi Blanco is a great choice. Oh, and fresh lime juice all the way.

Ingredients

 

  • 6-8 mint leaves

  • 50ml white rum

  • 25ml lime juice

  • 25ml simple syrup

  • 2 tsp brown sugar

  • Top club soda

Garnish

  • Fresh mint sprig

  • Lime wheel

Method

1) Add Rum, mint (remember to slap it), fresh lime, syrup and sugar to highball glass

2) 3/4 fill glass with ice then stir and mix ingredients (no need to muddle)

3) Top with soda
