Southside
Like many classic cocktails, the origins of the Southside are wrapped in mystery and debated claims. After some research, the most likely source appears to be Hugo Enslinn’s Recipes for Mixed Drinks, published in 1917. Ask a bartender to describe a Southside, and they’ll often compare it to a Gimlet with mint. While not entirely inaccurate, this description doesn’t quite do justice to the true character of this refreshing cocktail.
